Danette Johnson

Medical Aesthetician

Danette has been in the beauty industry for over 20 years. She has a “passion for what she does because it ultimately helps women to feel better about themselves.” Danette moved to Tulsa in 1994 at which time she was a product rep for Aveda. After much encouragement from her clients she went to Broken Arrow Beauty College where she graduated in February of 1996 and earned her aesthetician license. Danette worked in the salon and spa industry but knew her passion would be medical skincare. In 1999, Danette began her career as a Medical Aesthetician working with Dr. Minor in his practice. A couple of years later Danette had the opportunity to work with a plastic surgeon and she decided to broaden her knowledge to include more than cosmetic dermatology. Danette went on to work with another medical spa where she completed an intense paramedical aesthetician course in Austin before returning to Dr. Minor’s practice. When she was asked to rejoin Dr. Minor at his Medical Spa, SkinRenewal, it was like coming full circle. Danette is certified and has close to ten years of experience working with Intense Pulsed Light. She is also certified and has the same amount of experience working with our Laser Hair Removal. Danette has a broad range of knowledge and experience working with chemical peels. She helps patients determine which peel is best suited for them based on their expectations and needs. Danette is very active outside of work. She is married to Keith and they have a son, Parker. They enjoy spending time as a family camping and are active in their church. When she is not spending time with her family or working, Danette enjoys socializing with her friends and playing bridge.

Brandy Harrison

Medical Aesthetician

Brandy has always been interested in the medical field. Growing up in Muskogee, she worked at her father’s pharmacy so it was only natural that she would want to pursue the medical side of aesthetics. Brandy and her husband Chad moved to Arizona where she began her career as an Aesthetician. Upon graduation and obtaining her license Brandy went to work at Teddy’s in Gold Canyon. She then got the opportunity to work at The Venue an upscale community where she gained a passion for skin rejuvenation. Brandy had her first child, Conner, while working at The Venue. She took some time off to stay at home with her son and then went to work with her mentor in Scottsdale. When Brandy’s Husband, Chad, decided to go to school to become a pharmacist, they decided to move back to Oklahoma. They moved their family to Muskogee where she once again worked at the family pharmacy until she had their second child, Natalie. Brandy and Chad moved their family to Tulsa and Chad began the pharmacy program and when Natalie was 6 months old Brandy came to work with SkinRenewal where she was able to bring her passion for the medical field together with her passion for skin rejuvenation. Brandy is trained to work with chemical peels, laser hair removal and photofacial. She also preforms spa services which include waxing, brow and lash tinting and facials.

Cindy Nickel, R.N.

Cosmetic Nurse Specialist

Fillers and permanent makeup have one main thing in common…no one should know you “did something.” You can’t go just anywhere and get great results. Anyone can do it but to do it well demands artistry, training and experience.

At a young age Cindy’s artistic ability was expressed through oil painting. As time went on, you could say the passion remained—but the canvas changed. Since graduation form the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in nursing, Cindy has focused her efforts in the realm of cosmetic enhancement. For five years she has been an integral part of the SkinRenewal team where she offers Botox, dermal fillers and permanent cosmetic makeup. According to Cindy, aesthetic medicine is a prefect match for her skill set. “Fillers and injectables demand not only a thorough knowledge of anatomy, but a true sense of artistry. I’ve always been fascinated by both the clinical and creative aspects of facial rejuvenation.” Cindy offers her patients the very latest in products and application techniques because of her commitment to ongoing education. She has completed close to 40 advanced coursed since 2002. Cindy has the distinction of being a certified instructor for Allergan-the manufacturer of Botox and Juvederm. She teaches plastic surgeons who are interested in growing their injectable practice with the nuances associated with non invasive rejuvenation. Cindy’s other proclivity is permanent cosmetic makeup. Contrary to other practitioners and salons, she has been able to put two of the biggest fears to rest; pain and an unnatural result. “Almost without exception my patient’s biggest concern is pain because they have heard stories from others. The god news is it does not have to hurt. As a nurse, I use medicine to make the experience comfortable with less downtime. Permanent cosmetic makeup should never be obvious. A great result means it’s soft and natural and pretty, not applied.” Cindy’s philosophy is the same regarding fillers which can easily be overdone. “I take my time so I can create subtle changes using a conservative approach. No big huge lips or frozen expressions.” It is no surprise that Cindy’s practice is almost exclusively referral based. “I’m very fortunate to have built a sense of loyalty among my patients. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than that level of trust.”
